Hi ,
What do bandanas, beach balls, Oreos and chopsticks have to do with client service? Read on to find out!
CURAgeous client service was the theme of our annual off-site retreat, where we discussed how to provide our client partners with an unparalleled experience. If you are a client, I hope you are seeing this in our service to you. If not, or you have ANY feedback to share, please email me at anne.woodbury@curastrategies.com to set up a call.
We were also blessed to have my former boss and now AARP's chief communications and marketing officer Martha Boudreau join us as the keynote. Unsurprisingly, she amazed us all with her wisdom and strategic insight. But the magic of these retreats is more than great content—it’s about collisions.
“The collisions” is what Zappos founder Tony Hsieh described as serendipitous personal encounters that form community and encourage creativity and cohesion. Creating space for experiences generates a strong sense of belonging, builds trust and facilitates the teamwork required to deliver CURAgeous client service.
To answer the question above, watch our short retreat recap of the CURA decathlon to see the silly challenges that led to serious competition and a lot of fun collision time.

We were honored to receive several awards this quarter in recognition of our transformative work, starting with the PRovoke Award for Boutique Agency of the Year in May. Our founder and CEO Anne Woodbury said it best, “It may say CURA on the trophy, but this award should include all our clients' names. Without you, there would be no CURA. You are what makes it all possible.”

|
|
We're also celebrating our very own Falen Petros for winning the WWPR Emerging Leaders Award in the boutique agency category for her work on the Rockford Ready campaign and beyond.

This past quarter we have pushed the boundaries of CURA and explored new and innovative
avenues with our clients. A few of many highlights below!
|
|
|
We proudly reactivated the Honor the Gift campaign to fight for expanded coverage of post-transplant care. Our work resulted in a STAT News piece highlighting affected patients and access to non-invasive diagnostic testing.

|
|
In collaboration with Mobilize Recovery, we're launching Day of Service—a national movement that convenes service projects across the world to bring the community together. Join the movement, happening September 30th!

Meetings and advocacy days on the Hill continue to look different after COVID, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t possible. We successfully launched a virtual advocacy event with the Polycystic
Kidney Disease Foundation, assisting in over 110 seamless meetings. Check out our 4 Tips to Execute a Seamless Virtual Advocacy Day blog to see how we pulled it off!

As part of our advocacy offerings, coming soon is CURA’s very own Advocacy
Academy. Designed to help organizations educate and train their supporters on how Congress works and the basics of storytelling, this online course provides 75 minutes of video content that will help build effective and engaged advocates.

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: STEPHANIE
WIGHT One of CURA’s latest additions, Stephanie, is what you may call a local celebrity for women in PR. We loved what she had to say in WWPR’s member spotlight.

New Hope Housing Residential Program In April, CURA partnered with the
New Hope Housing Residential Program center and volunteered to prepare bagged lunches for the guests at the shelter. We also coordinated a health service event to provide health screenings at the shelter. Always a joy to help out the community!

Juneteenth Foundation We were so thrilled to support the Juneteenth Foundation to bring greater awareness to the historical legacy of Black Americans. Every year the support for the foundation continues to grow, which is a testament to how important their mission is.

As mentioned in the upfront, the CURA team enjoyed a productive and eventful off-site
all-staff retreat this quarter. We headed up to Easton, Maryland where we discussed CURA's 2023 strategic initiatives, what it takes to provide exceptional client service and, as you saw, got a bit competitive with our team building activity.

Welcome back! Returning from their month-long sabbaticals, Thy-Ann and
Erin, are feeling rejuvenated and ready to tackle the coming months. We love being able to support our team members in taking breaks and focusing on life outside of work.
Thy-Ann brought a new member into her family. Meet Sadie! She’s considered a VIP in the office and has already grown so much!

|
|
|
Erin spent her time unplugged and reconnecting to old hobbies!
