Hi ,
New Year. New Congress. New Administration. New challenges and opportunities. These changes demand we revisit and refresh strategies and messaging for us and our clients, but it does not change the principle on which our work is anchored: advancing patient-centered care through health care transformation.
Recent headlines about shifts in information-sharing platforms, like Meta’s decision to replace fact-checking with community-driven "notes," underscore how critical it is to maintain integrity in communication and decision-making. It is obviously important to be truthful, but when it comes to health care, what has struck me recently is how much our client work spans not just the health care continuum but a continuum of truth.
Take the examples in this newsletter of our work over the past few months—on the one side, we’re fostering innovation and advancing new ideas, such as recruiting congenital heart patients into Mezzion's clinical trial and nurturing policy discussions through forums like the Alliance for Health Policy. On the other, we’re applying trusted evidence: celebrating leaders like The Leapfrog Group and URAC, who set the standard for quality in health care, and partnering with ASTRO to deliver reliable information about radiation therapy treatments.
At CURA, we challenge ourselves daily to balance the sharing of evidence-based information while responsibly fostering innovation and new ideas. And we ensure we’re striking the right balance by staying true to our mission of transforming health care to improve patients’ lives. Whether it's pioneering new approaches or reinforcing proven strategies, it’s a privilege to mobilize our clients’ missions during these dynamic times.
Here’s to a year of innovation and impact. Happy reading!
Truly Yours in Partnership,

Hey batter batter! CURA supported Mezzion’s Step Up to the Plate for Fontan Research event at the Cardinals stadium in St. Louis, where patients and providers came together to connect, celebrate and share stories to raise awareness for the FUEL-2 clinical trial. Patient stories were even showcased on the jumbotron! We look forward to our continued partnership with Mezzion to drive meaningful research for Fontan patients. |

Mobilizing Military Family Advocates |
The National Military Family Association (NMFA) was hard at work building and launching a grassroots advocacy platform—the Military Family Action Center—to fight for critical provisions in the 2025 defense spending bill such as increased pay, and spouse and childcare support. CURA was proud to support NMFA’s mission to build on its longstanding advocacy efforts with a successful final push at the end of 2024 to mobilize the voices of hundreds of military families and see through much needed protections for them in 2025. |

New ASTRO Campaign Demystifies Radiation Therapy |
The unknowns of cancer treatment are scary. But when you know more, fear loses its power. |
That’s why we worked with ASTRO to create Radiation Therapy in Focus, a public awareness campaign to educate people on the value of radiation therapy as an effective, targeted and precise treatment for people living with cancer. |
To demystify this type of cancer treatment, we interviewed patients and providers to put Radiation Therapy in Focus (see what we did there) and share real stories on cancer care. P.S. Radiation therapy can cure cancer! |

Giving Back in the Season of Thanks |
At CURA, giving back is at the heart of what we do. This past Thanksgiving, we collected non-perishable food items for the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC), supporting their mission to combat food insecurity in our community. We were all proud to participate in making this season a little brighter for those in need! |
