Hi friends,

Summer has arrived—and with it, that familiar rhythm of vacations, family reunions, and my personal favorite—more daylight hours! But while the season shifts, one thing remains constant: the urgency of our work.

A lot has happened in health care over the last quarter and CURA has been on the front lines. We’ve helped nurses and diabetes patient advocates break through the noise to make their voices heard by Congress and supported military spouses as they rallied for employment opportunities. We’ve rocked the halls of Rayburn with rare kidney disease patients as they shared their stories with lawmakers and promoted a new tool that’s redefining aging readiness. Progress is never passive.

Amidst these changes, CURA’s north star stays fixed: amplifying voices that drive change. Whether it’s Mezzion’s global Fontan trial outreach or Travere Therapeutics’ FSGS patient reception, we’re proving that even in a noisy landscape, real, lived experiences command a room. And as new faces join our team (welcome, Sarah and Hannah!) and others return (cheers to Stephanie and baby Keeley!), we’re reminded that growth—like advocacy—is a team sport.

So, as you recharge this summer, know this: the work continues, the needle keeps moving, and we’re honored to be in the trenches with clients who refuse to settle for the status quo. Here’s to a season of momentum—and maybe a little sunshine, too.

Onward,
Anne

Military Spouses’ Tax Credit Push

In early May, military spouses from across the country (and in one case, from across the world) representing the National Military Family Association educated congressional staff on the Military Spouse Hiring Act, a piece of legislation that would help address the unacceptably high level of military spouse unemployment. The day culminated with Congressman Don Beyer (D-VA), sponsor of the bill, collaborating with the advocates. Five new Representatives joined onto the bill as cosponsors following the effort.

West Health Data Dashboard Debuts at #OnAging2025

West Health joined other leaders in healthy aging at On Aging 2025 where they debuted the National Aging Readiness Dashboard, a first-of-its-kind interactive tool that unifies national, state and local data on health care and aging in America. The CURA team amplified West Health’s presence at the meeting through curated digital and printed giveaways that brought their sessions and resources to life. Check out some highlights from the event in this video!

Accessia Health at Asembia ASX2025

Tiara Green, President of Accessia Health, recently spoke at Asembia AXS2025, where she discussed how prevention and health literacy are foundational strategies to improving health equity. CURA supported the event through media outreach, securing on-site interviews for Tiara and driving attendance to her panel. Overall, we secured ten pieces of media coverage, including articles in Managed Healthcare Executive and the Syneos Health podcast.

Mezzion Goes Global in Hamburg

Guten tag! SVP and Partner Scott Leezer joined Mezzion Pharmaceuticals to raise awareness of the FUEL-2 clinical trial at the annual AEPC Conference in Hamburg, Germany. At the meeting, Mezzion brought together leaders in the cardiovascular space to network and discuss treatments for those living with single ventricle physiology.

Advocates Raise the Alarm on Medicaid Cuts

The American Nurses Association and Diabetes Patient Advocacy Coalition put advocacy into action, urging lawmakers to oppose Medicaid cuts and prioritize policies that protect patient care. Over 500 nurses from across the country descended on Capitol Hill, calling on Congress to safeguard Medicaid. Check out key coverage in ABC News and Chief Healthcare Executive.

🎤 Feels So Good to celebrate FSGS Patients

It was our honor to help Travere Therapeutics host a bipartisan congressional reception spotlighting the powerful stories of three FSGS (focal segmental glomerulosclerosis) patient advocates. Their stories underscored both how far we have come with research and the urgent need for new treatments and more research—urging support for the New Era for Preventing End-Stage Kidney Disease Act.

One highlight was musician David Rush sharing the story behind his song, Feels So Good, commissioned by Travere for their Play it Forward campaign—a virtual forum to empower the community to share their personal experiences to provide hope and inspiration to others facing similar challenges. Visit the campaign website to hear the song. We dare you not to smile as you listen.

On the Hill with URAC

CURA proudly supported URAC’s recent Congressional Hill Briefing, Accreditation 101: Improving Health Care Quality from Chronic Care to Telehealth, which brought together industry leaders to spotlight the role of accreditation in improving outcomes, enhancing patient experience and reducing costs. At the session, we connected URAC's CEO with telehealth policy reporter, Christian Robles, resulting in a story in Inside Health Policy.
